Upon formation in 2006, one of the HOF’s
primary missions was to establish an award to be made each year to the
deserving AEHS male and female student-athletes.The award for the female student-athlete is
named in honor of Kit Pardee, one of the most accomplished and courageous
athletes in Einstein history.Kit had
established her annual award prior to the formation of the Hall of Fame, and
upon her induction into the HOF in 2006,
expressed her desire to have this award be made under the auspices of the HOF.The Hall of Fame is now honored to
have its annual award for the Outstanding Female Student Athlete be made in
honor Kit Pardee!
Kit was a pioneer in female athletics before adoption of Title IX,
participating in basketball, softball, track and tennis during her career at
Einstein.
Kit went on to play basketball
and field hockey at the University of
Maryland, where she completed her undergraduate work in 1977.Serious injuries sustained in a car accident
tragically ended Kit’s athletic career, but she went on to receive her law
degree from Catholic University, is
now a practicing attorney and remains a strong advocate for women’s
athletics.Kit is a 2006 HOF Inductee
and remains active in support of Einstein athletics and the HOF.
Thanks to the generosity of our loyal HOF supporters, the Kit Pardee Award has been
made to deserving female AEHS student-athletes in 2008 and 2009.With your support, the Kit Pardee Award will
continue to be a goal each year for Einstein athletes, as well as a living
testimonial to the courage, determination and leadership of Kit Pardee.
